Forest-rimmed Smith Lake
Smith Lake is located about one mile northwest of the Gray Eagle Lodge in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area south of Graeagle, California. Smith Lake Trail passes along the south side of the lake on its way from the Gray Eagle Lodge to the Plumas-Eureka State Park. A Plumas National Forest sign at the lake gives the lake elevation as 6094 feet. The mountain lake features lakeshore campsites around the rocky lakeshore. Trout fishing and swimming are popular summer activities at Smith Lake.
