Triangle Lake is a shallow lake
cradled in a labyrinth of rocks, trees and creeklets. It is accessible
via
Triangle Lake Trail,
which forks off the
Pacific Crest Trail
(PCT)
at the
Desolation Wilderness boundary between
the Upper Echo Lake
and the PCT/Tamarack-Lake-Trail junction.
The hidden lake is a destination that attracts day-hikers as well as backpackers.
Sheltered spots between the fractured rocks serve as campsites.
The opening over Triangle Lake's north shore widens the scenery for a
panoramic view of the mountain ridges between Mt. Tallac and Dick's Peak.
