The historic Crocker Mansion in downtown Sacramento

Historic Crocker Mansion

Facing 3rd Street: the Victorian-Italianate Crocker family home, now part of the art museum block

The historic Crocker Mansion is part of the Crocker Art Museum complex. This so-called mansion wing was once the Crocker family home and currently houses the ceramics and Asian art collection of the museum. It is linked with the modern Teel Family Pavilion by the Victorian-Italianate gallery building. The Crocker Mansion is located at the corner of O Street and 3rd Street across Crocker Park—a short distance east of the Sacramento river. Walk around the corner and look over (or through) the fence: You will see the sculpture Folded Circle Cube and Disc by Fletcher Benton, which was installed on the mansion's front-yard lawn in July 2011 (more in Kati Garner's article “New on the Crocker's Block ”).
