Knob Point
(elevation: 6050 ft) along the eastern flanks
of the Carson Range
is a pleasant resting point and a great
viewpoint for recreationalists
who enjoy hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding
on
Clear Creek Trail
southwest of Carson City, Nevada.
At this pine-tree-surrounded point you will find some shade
and can overlook the
Carson Valley ranchland.
Knob Point is seven miles away from the
Clear Creek Trailhead along Jacks Valley Road.
From the more-difficult-to-find trailhead near the
Highway 50 exit onto Golf Club Drive, it takes only 3.5
miles—0.8 miles on the Old Clear Creek Road—
to get to Knob Point, which is located about one mile south of
another grand view point,
overlooking Clear Creek Valley.
