The princely stable of Bückeburg, Lower Saxony, Germany

The princely stable (Marstall) of Bückeburg was built in 1608. It is part of the Bückeburg Palace complex with the palace itself located on an artificial island. The exhibits in the present-day Marstallmuseum review the history of equestrian art. The collection showcases artifacts out of the princely property and from all around the world. The museum allows visitors to touch and mount selected historic saddles. The board to the left of the museum's door, entitled “Fürstliche Hofreitschule” and providing informative texts in English, French and German, is framed by lush climbing vines covering the masonry sandstone wall.
